Outdoor Activity benefits from cash injection

Six partners across North Wales and Ireland have received 1.8 million to develop an Outdoor project to maximize their outdoor tourism potential. The project partnership is composed of six organisations including three Welsh partners; Conwy County Borough Council, The Outdoor Partnership and Gwynedd County Council and three Irish partners; Kildare County Council, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Kilkenny Leader Partnership.
 

CASE STUDY: Chelsey Towell

Chelsey is from Bangor, Gwynedd, former pupil of Ysgol Tryfan and left school at 16 years of age and is a single mother. She is now 20 years of age and wanted to follow a career in the outdoors. She found working in the outdoor sector near impossible because she lacked the relevant qualifications and other factors like travel and child care.
 

Grants for Ski Touring.

Have you ever fancied learning the skills needed to go ski touring? Grants are available from the Eagle Ski Club and the Alpine Ski Club to help skiers into the activity.
 

Beginners Guide to Climbers

A new book aimed at young climbers learning the National IndoorClimbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS). It features cartoon illustrations giving step-by-step instructions on the basic skills required for Levels1 and 2 of the scheme and is fully endorsed by NICAS.
It is also endorsed by the Mountaineering Council of Scotland.

Please note new dates for the UKCC Level 1 course and the Coach Update in March The Canoe Wales, North Wales Community Coach scheme runs subsidised courses for club coaches.
