Outdoor Adventure Session for Youngsters with Disabilities
Saturday 18th October 2008
Ages 8 – 12 years 9.00am – 1.00pm Ages 13 – 18years 1.00pm 5.30pm. Meet at the Conway Centre, Llanfairpwll, LL61 6DJ. One parent/carer must stay in attendance. Cost £5 per person, places must be booked in advance.
 
Access to Outdoor Equipment on Anglesey!
The North West Wales Outdoor Partnership and Anglesey County Council Sports Development Unit will be launching its new Outdoor equipment store based at Plas Arthur Leisure Centre, Llangefni. Through a Sports Council for Wales ‘active capital lifestyle fund’ the county has been able to develop an equipment store based at Plas Arthur Leisure Centre which will cater for the needs of groups, clubs, schools, youth clubs, organisations and agencies.

Children Climbing High at The Beacon, Waunfawr!
Saturday 27th of September saw 45 children and young people limbering up to take part in the Beacon Back to School Bouldering Competition. The centre, buzzing with energy and a healthy mix of support and competitiveness, played host to both local children and young people as well as those from further a field.
 
October Half Term of Outdoor Activities in Conwy!
27-31 OCTOBER 2008
Do you live in Conwy and fancy an adventure over the half term holidays? If so, there are day trips to Nant B H organised for young people ages 11 - 15years. Activities include High Ropes and Gorge Walking. Spaces are limited to 15 and are on a first come first served basis, early booking is advised!
 
Subsidised Mountain Leader Training course for local residents!

Do you want to help others experience the great outdoors?
Ogwen Cottage Outdoor Pursuits Centre are offering North Wales teachers and residents the opportunity to gain the nationally recognised Mountain Leader Training course. Cost - £250 - This is a subsidised rate for North Wales Residents.Training candidates learn a full range of navigation and leadership skills, and the techniques for safety and security on steep ground.
 
CLUB PROFILE - Dyffryn Conwy Mountain Bike Club
Over the last two years the club has organised a number of activities, from Trailquest competitions, to skills development sessions, bike maintenance sessions and women only rides. Club members also spent five days riding off-road from Conwy to Swansea to raise money for St Davids Hospice and North Wales Air Ambulance.

Interested in becoming a Mountain Leader or simply want to develop your navigation skills? This practical weekend course provides an ideal opportunity to learn new skills and refine your technique. You will cover all aspects of navigation leaving you capable of finding your way confidently, day or night and in bad weather. Early booking is advised!
 
Climbing Wall Award training course coming soon!
DECEMBER 2008 - PLAS Y BRENIN
This new 2 day training course covers the skills and leadership qualities needed to introduce and supervise novice climbers on typical top roping and bouldering climbing walls. This Award will appeal to teachers, youth leaders, DofE supervisers and club volunteers.
