How did you get involved in the sport?

I used to compete in mountain running for Wales, and during a race I injured my hip.  I took up cycling as an alternative means of fitness and started mountain biking with a group of friends and haven't looked back since.

Top tips for future stars:

  • Enjoy the experience.
  • Apply yourself.
  • Find a group of friends to go out riding with and join a local club.
  • Find the right training programme that suits you!
  • Rest - don't get obsessed!
